Greetings to you all from Jerpoint Park. Apologies for not blogging for quite some time, but I was otherwise disposed (Maeve got me to say that !!!! )
I am Percy, the official blogger at Jerpoint Park, with years of unofficial guide touring with Joe. I am turning 6 yrs old in dog years and 42 yrs in human years, so plenty of milage on the clock. Woke up to a beautiful light covering of frost this morning, brilliant sunshine and a day to appreciate and enjoy. Maeve attached an image of a cobweb on the “Jallopy” this morning.
During the summer on 26th July 2012 Abbot of Glenstal brought a pilgrimage to St. Nicholas’s Tomb at Jerpoint Park. We were blessed with the weather – a glorious sunny day. The Abbot said mass at the Tomb effigy and Noirin Ni Riain sang so elequantly. It was a day to remember.
Travel Writer Brendan Harding wrote a lovely feature on Jerpoint Park in 2012 on Vagabond Travel Museum. http://brendanharding.blogspot.ie/2012/05/lost-towns-and-found-saints.html
Plus Jerpoint Park was featured in Farmers Journal Country Living Magazine in June 2012 & Irelands Own.
Till next time.
Percy.
